Portraits
Portraits were my very first artistic addiction. I used to draw the faces of some of my classmates at school, in pencil. It was one of the few things I enjoyed doing there. My efforts have grown organically, if cautiously.
John Singer Sargent famously said “Every time I paint a portrait I lose a friend”. Do you have to know the person you paint? I’m still exploring this genre. Below, some of the kind people who have allowed me to share my interpretation of their faces.
Exhibitions and latest works
Delighted to have recently joined the Inverness Art Society, and participated in their annual exhibition alongside so many experienced Highlands Artists. Three of my paintings and four limited edition prints were exhibited.
